Launched in 2012 by Dutch worktop supplier Jetstone, ceramic worktops are increasingly becoming the worktop material of choice for discerning customers looking for something a little bit different to granite & quartz.
Available in an endless & ever growing choice of colours and finishes, ceramic also offer the benefit of being available in a wide range of floor tile modules for a fully coordinated design.
Being completely non porous, ceramic is 100% stain proof. This means that it’s suitable for use in kosher kitchens. Granite, particularly lighter coloured granites, need to be sealed regularly to ensure they remain stain resistant. Although quartz is supposed to be easier to maintain than granite as it never requires sealing, there are stories of lighter coloured quartz worktops (usually white) staining.
Ceramic worktops are more resistant to heat than granite & quartz
Being much harder than quartz & granite, Ceramic worktops are almost impossible to scratch.
Just like Corian & solid surface, ceramic can be moulded into sinks to create a completely seamless finish.
